How It All Started

It all started with a gift. Not just any gift. What else could it have been if not a miniature gift for my best friend?

The thing is I had always been fascinated with miniatures, and since I shared this fascination with my friend, I thought, why not try my hand at these miniatures wonders. What if I could do them myself? Could it be possible?

Then came a time for study, a time for sleepless nights (and not on account of my 8 month baby, if you catch my drift). There were countless trials and errors, do overs and tutorials until I was able to stand by my very first French baguette, and find it had no flaws.

There were hard times, but ultimately they were fun times, cause I had finally found something I absolutely loved to do. Loved it so much so, that I went from a French baguette to salty pretzels, to Christmas cake, cupcakes, salami, eggs, muffins, English Christmas pudding and even toffee apples.

I added a small box I furbished myself, a table and a shelf to put it all on, put some cute wallpaper inside, added a multicolor cloth bunting I had also made myself, and before I knew it is was Christmas day! My first miniature gift box was ready to be given away, and my passion for miniatures was bigger than ever.

Now for the questions:

What was the gift? As you might have guessed (from the pictures) it was a wood box, full of all the food my friend liked.

Did she like it? She LOVED it!

Who is the friend? Well, she's the other half of our newly founded little business, 2smartminiatures. What did you think we chose the name by accident? :-)

Too smart for their own good, 2smartminiatures take the tiny dollhouse world by surprise! Or so we've planned to do...

  3. Hi,

Thank you ever so much for your kind words. Like I said in the post, I am a new comer, so it's wonderful to feel the appreciation of a fellow miniaturist :)

PS: I tried looking you up on Etsy too, but seems that you are on vacation, so enjoy and we'll keep in touch :)
